Who must pay the dog tax?

Every household with a dog in Schiedam and Vlaardingen must pay the dog tax to the RBG. The dog tax will be included in the combination assessment and will therefore be in the name of the person who also pays the other taxes.

You can register your dog via My RBG. You will need your DigiD for this. You can also download and send the  Dog Tax (hondenbelasting) registration form. To register your dog(s), complete and send this form by mail to the RBG.

Is there a deadline for registering my dog?

You have a period of 2 weeks following your acquisition of the dog to register it. You can register your dog via My RBG. You will need your DigiD for this. You can also download and send the  Dog Tax (hondenbelasting) registration form. The RBG may issue a fine of €50.00 if you fail to register your dog within this period.

I don’t have my dog anymore – how do I report this?

You can deregister your dog via My RBG. You will need your DigiD for this. You can also download and send the  Dog Tax (hondenbelasting) deregistration form. Make sure to include evidence that you no longer have your dog (for example, a copy of the vet’s report). We will process the change and modify your assessment (you will be notified of this).
